During the Month of May, Burlington County Library System will be offering a series of presentations aimed at Mental Health.

On Wednesday May 16 we will continue this series covering the topic, "Maintaining Healthy Relationships-Advice for Couples".

Loving relationships do not just happen. They must be nurtured from fragile beginnings, embraced and appreciated for the all the good they offer, and guided carefully through strained and tumultuous times. You can do this through a commitment to being caring and true to yourself and your partner.  In this program, learn to maintain a healthy relationship by nurturing compassionate self-awareness, employing 5 basic actions to maintain a close connection, and developing tools for effectively coping with conflict.

As a well-respected licensed psychologist, Dr. Becker-Phelps is dedicated to helping people understand themselves and what they need to do to become emotionally and psychologically healthy. She treats individuals and couples in her private practice in Basking Ridge, N.J.  In addition to her clinical practice as a psychotherapist, she inspires people to change, grow, and heal through her work as a speaker and writer. Dr. Becker-Phelps also serves on the medical staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset

Part 5 of this series will be held on Wednesday May 23 will provide information on "Preparing for Bariatric Surgery- A Psychologists Perspective"
