NJPA Continuing Education

NJPA is meeting the challenge of ensuring that we remain competitive and relevant in the continuing education market for psychologists and other mental health professionals. We strive to broaden the clinical, academic, consultative, and research knowledge bases of our attendees by offering the highest quality of professional programming.

Our CE programs offer:

  • High quality content in a variety of practice areas, as well as programming through collaborative partnerships, such as the New Jersey Inter-Mental Health and Psychological Associations Coalition (IMPAC)
  • Increased scope of knowledge and skills in area of specialization and new areas of practice and study
  • Facilitation in the integration of practice and research to foster and sustain an active sense of critical inquiry
  • Evidence-based and presented by leaders in their field. All programs are produced, reviewed and approved by the NJPA Council on Continuing Education Affairs (CoCEA) Programming and Review Committees with CE regulations, and the full NJPA membership in mind

Educate Yourself about the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners (BoPE)
Mandatory Continuing Education Requirements

NJPA continuing education programs are created and offered for psychologists in NJ to earn the mandatory 40 credits of continuing education related to the practice of psychology according to the NJ BoPE regulations.  Out of the 40 credits,  four credits must be in topics related to domestic violence and, (starting this licensing cycle 2019 - 2021) one credit must address the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion.  We strongly encourage you to review and become familiar with the BoPE Regulations on Continuing Education (which start on page 57)

Public comments are open through August 16, 2019 on the proposed BoPE regulations to address the new one opioid credit

NJPA will continue to share reminders and tips about mandatory continuing education requirements in our NJPA Friday Updates and NJ Psychologist journal.  You may contact the BoPE if you have a question about whether a course or alternative credit source is appropriate
