I believe in the saying “how you do anything is how you do everything.” I have lived across the world and have tried on many hats, and the recurring themes that fill me with energy and bring my best self forward are present in anything and everything I do. My best self is present when I am able to manage time, organize multiple projects, collaborate with motivated and diverse people, and most of all provide service to others. These skills carried me in a legal profession, as an art business entrepreneur, and now have successfully transferred over to my work in the nonprofit sector. As executive director, my goals are to build trust, commitment, and collaboration through my responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of NJPA and in carrying out the policies and directives of the executive board.

Dr. Glassgold served as NJPA president (2008), a member and chair of the Ethics Committee, a member of COLA, and the founding chair of the Task Force on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Issues. Dr. Glassgold most recently was a visiting research fellow at the Center for Health and Wellbeing at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International
Policy of Princeton University. At Princeton, she conducted research and taught mental and behavioral health policy. From 2009-2016, Dr. Glassgold lived in Washington, DC, working on health policy.  She spent three years as associate executive director for Public Interest and
director of Government Relations for Public Interest. Prior to APA, she worked on healthcare policy for the Congressional Research Service providing policy analysis exclusively to Congress. Dr. Glassgold served as a senior policy advisor on domestic social policy to Representative
Sander Levin (MI), chair and then ranking member of the Ways and Means Committee, focusing on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Dr. Glassgold was an APA congressional fellow (2009-2010), and worked on the passage of the Affordable Care Act for Representative Xavier Becerra (CA). Prior to moving to Washington, DC, Dr. Glassgold maintained a private practice in Middlesex County, NJ, and taught at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University.

I initially pursued a degree in accounting to satisfy my love of analytical thinking but my creative side won out. I earned a degree in marketing that allows me to be creative and utilize my skills and passions in a variety of settings; as a buyer for a major department store, chairing committees at my children's school, working for NJPA, and most recently, becoming a board trustee with a local non-profit, the Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy, working as their volunteer website master, social media director, and project coordinator.  My full-time responsibilities include print and online communications, development of marketing collateral, brand management, website administration and content development, public and media relations, generating non-dues revenue, and social media management.  Working for an association with a passionate mission and volunteering for a true non-profit are very fulfilling experiences!

Projects with purpose that advance, deepen, or expand a mission, ultimately resulting sustainable change and growth, is what inspires me. After an early career in financial services, I then devoted my time and resources to various non-profit and youth education organizations. From school boards to education foundations, I have always believed in collaboration, teamwork, and focused energy to create progress and productive change.  At NJPA, I will be responsible for membership management and coordination working with the Membership Committee to optimize member value and increase membership participation.  I’m looking forward to the tasks ahead and especially working with the NJPA Foundation. My primary focus in raising funds and assisting membership is vital to NJPA’s vision and I expect this will put my developed skills to good use.
