Increasingly, psychologists are using telehealth as a means of responding to the demand for services especially during COVID-19, and particularly for underserved populations. Psychology is uniquely suited to taking advantage of telehealth services as psychology intervention is talking and does not need additional equipment like some medical specialties. When done via live video links, treatments are as effective via telehealth as when patients come to the psychologist’s office. PSYPACT would be particularly helpful when patients travel out of state, and for patients such as family of military personnel who move frequently.

In New Jersey, there is current legislation (A4205/S2506) to enter New Jersey into PSYPACT.  This program will cover what that means to New Jersey psychologists during the legislative process, and when/if the legislation is signed into law.  This program will also cover the professional regulation of PSYPACT, and the topic of reimbursement for services provided under PSYPACT.
