Beyond the Individual: A Community Beset by Racial Trauma

Live Webinar

Date: Friday September 17, 2021

Time: 12pm- 3:15pm EDT

Instructor: Monique Swift, PsyD, LPC

Instructional Level: Introductory

3 CE credits

Price: $60

The COVID-19 pandemic undeniably exposed the vestiges of historical trauma, as well as the epidemic of structural racism that creates widespread vulnerability within the black community. The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study is a landmark public health study that expanded our understanding of trauma and its impact, yet still falls short of elucidating the disparate impact of trauma and how it effects entire communities. With racial trauma as a central focus, this workshop will augment your understanding of trauma, beyond the individual, to the community. This webinar will advance a framework for understanding trauma of the Black community, its drivers, and its consequences.
