Program Narrative:
Child-rearing is ranked among the top stressors, especially when dealing with behavioral challenges. Behavioral problems in children have likely been exacerbated due to the added stresses of COVID-19. This presentation will address childhood behavioral challenges. Considerations in diagnosis will be presented as well as evidence-based treatment and parenting training options.

Learning Objectives - this workshop is designed to: 
  • Present the current research regarding childhood behavioral problems
  • Develop an understanding of why children have behavioral challenges- from a developmental and diagnostic perspective 
  • Describe empirically validated treatment approaches and parenting training programs.
  • Learn how to apply these treatment and parenting approaches.
  • Learn how to effectively engage these children and their parents in treatment.
  • Identify and explore how empirically validated treatments can be utilized in internet based therapy.
Target Audience: Psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health professionals, graduate students. *Please note that due to issues of confidentiality, the presentation is open only to people in the field.

Program Sophistication: Intermediate. Some basic knowledge of the content is required.
